Do Not Mistake My Gentleness for Weakness

As Christians, we are often mistaken for being soft. The world looks at us as somebody who can be pushed around and intimitated because of our love for Jesus. In other words, we are supposed to be timid. Gentleness is even on of the fruits of the Spirit. Look at Paul's letter to the church in Galatia, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other (5:22-26).

Do not mistake gentleness for weakness. God's Word tells us we are to boldly go and proclaim the faith. It does not say we are supposed to force Jesus on anyone, nor are we supposed to judge or guilt those who have yet to accept Him as Savior. My question to you is this: who put them in charge? Having said that, we are also not to shrink back and be timid about who we are and Whose we are.

It feels like much of the world is allowing and supporting anything but the name of Jesus. In spite of that, I encourage you to courageously and boldly share your faith with a lost and dying world. Remember, you and I cannot be defeated; we have already received the victory...
