Just Like Nehemiah

Today I am sharing my vision and heart with you. As many of you know, I have resigned as athletic director and (verbally) accepted a position with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Its mission is to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. FCA is based on values like: INTREGITY, SERVING, TEAMWORK and EXCELLENCE. Founded in 1954, FCA's ministry has shared the good news of Jesus with thousands of athletes and coaches.
Just like in the Book of Nehemiah (Chapter 2), I feel led to leave the "comfort" of a job with guaranteed salary and benefits to join the battle to save our youth from the enemy. Having worked in the public schools for the last five years, I can tell you our kids are suffering; many lack hope, direction and support I have witnessed them walk around as spiritual orphans starved to hear about Jesus. The FCA allows me to travel to schools, meet with coaches and athletes to share my testimony and heart for Christ. It provides me the privilege to introduce them to a life more abundantly and engage them with the hope found in God's Word.
I know this challenge will not be easy. The world has a choke hold on our youth through several different venues. I cannot fight this battle alone. With that , I am asking three things:
PRAY - pray for this ministry and my efforts to help support, fund and launch my ministry into schools wanting and needing to hear about Jesus.
PROVISIONS - I have chosen to raise my own support. If you feel God has blessed you financially, I would be honored to have you fund my efforts.
POINT - reach out to other like believers who have a passion for Jesus and a heart for our kids.
The Apostle Paul tells the church in Corinth, "the Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel.' I cannot begin my ministry until I am fully funded and able to provide for my financial needs.
Attached you will find a welcome letter with important information on my ministry. I also have hard copies of the letter and a PowerPoint slideshow for those interested in learning more.
I appreciate each of you and your willingness to support my efforts...
Pastor Aaron
