Let God Work

As Christians, we get to be a part of God's plan. The bible tells us there is a time for everything; including the roles we have in different seasons of our lives. Many times, we get in the way. Whether it be through good intentions or our own selfish pride, we fail to let God work in our lives and the lives of others.

Proverbs 16:9 tells us, "A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps." In other words, we have all kinds of big plans but God is ultimately in control if we allow Him to be. Some of you may be thinking if God is all powerful how can you say we have the ability to allow or not allow him to have control of our lives? Great question! Along with being all powerful, He is also all wise. In His wisdom, God allows us the freewill to choose. Every so often, He will allow us to think we are in charge and permit things to play out. More often than not, it doesn't go very well and we, hopefully, learn from our mistakes.

The apostle Paul tells us in the book of Philippians that God is working in (enabling) us creating the desire and providing the power to do His will. Our job is to listen, have faith, perform our part and then get out of His way!!!
