Stop The World I Want To Get Off

I must confess, each day the world seems to be growing darker and darker. At times, we are blind to it because the blessings of material things seem to still be at our finger tips where life is comfortable and easy.

It seems like many have become numb to the turmoil, unrest and suffering in the world. A very dangerous "As long as it doesn't personally affect me" mentality seems to be growing more and more. The enemy tells us to focus on you and yours and that we just don't have time to care about anyone or anything else. We become impatient, defensive and frustrated with other people when they interrupt our schedule or routine. Don't believe me? I encourage you to go for a drive in any populated area and watch how people act towards other behind the wheel.

What is most sad is the fact that God has provided so many wonderful blessings in this world for us to enjoy. Jesus tells us He wants a more abundant life for us! Many churches, pastors and congregations only want to hear the good things and nothing more. That is just what the enemy hopes for. The bible tells us we live in a dark and dying world and that we are to be the light to others. It is hard to shine bright when you focus your light straight down for your path and not up for others to see.

I encourage you to read Psalms 73 today. The writer has had enough of the world ruling his life. The frustrations, unfairness and mistreatment seem to have reached a point of no return. His answer to all of this: focus on God. My hope is that you join me to do the same. I am done living for the world and am going to start living for the Word.

I hope you have a blessed week...

Pastor Aaron
