The Enemy's Plan

Our lives seem to be full of plans. Whether it be personal or professional schedules, our calendars are packed with things we want and need to do. But what about your spiritual plans? In the Book of Jeremiah, we read where the prophet is sharing words directly from God, For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Too many Christians are walking around spiritually aimless. They work their jobs, take care of their families and attend church every Sunday. Yet, struggle to understand what it is God wants them to do. We sometimes over-complicate things when we try to pick and choose parts of His plan or try to insert plans of our own. It is important to remind ourselves that God's plan fits together perfectly just like His Word.

You and I can also be certain that the enemy has a plan. He wants to normalize evil and make us comfortable with it. And he is seeing success from his efforts. Just look at the increase of it in society. We are starting to become numb and even justify heinous acts. John warns us about the lies the devil spreads, You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it (8:44).

God's plan for us is waiting: for you and me, our families, churches, homes and jobs. In order to fulfill His plan, we must do three things. First, we must be willing to listen to His plan. Next, we must be willing to trust His plan. And finally, we must be willing to carry out His plan...
