We Have A Choice To Make

As Christians we are given choices, even after being saved God allows us to make decisions in our lives. Now we can and should ask God for guidance and help, but ultimately He allows us to choose. This is why we we were given free will. Just as we made the decision to follow Jesus, we must also choose what we permit, promote and produce in our lives.

Sometimes we can use the world as an excuse. How you ask? We often blame others for self-inflicted wounds by making poor decisions! If we let our guard down, the world will make decisions for us and our families. We are inundated with media persuasion: through television, social media and the internet we are steered toward and told what to think. The enemy is very much alive in working against you, especially when you profess Christ and show a daily desire to draw closer to Him. Are they really “family-friendly” movies? Does social media actually have a positive impact on us or our children? Are schools teaching reading, writing and arithmetic and factual history?

Living in today’s world, it is impossible to remove you and your family entirely. Unfortunately, you cannot get away from it. For many, it is only a matter of time before they simply wear down and begin to slowly normalize sin (“it really isn’t that bad, is it?”). When this happens, the devil has his foot in the door and becomes even bolder in his attacks.

Just like Joshua, we have choices to make: what do we permit? What do we promote? What do we produce?
