Who I Am Is Not What I Am

All of us have priorities in our life. What do we base them on? Are we both God centered and focused? Or does our world revolve around temporary things? It is very easy to make "good" things in our lives top priority for our thoughts and actions. Family, work, money and even church can all be good things to focus on. However, if they consume your energy and become the most important thing in life, they take on a sinful nature.

In his second letter to the church of Corinth, Paul talks about the characteristics of being a Christian. He is preparing followers of Jesus for a life of challenges that include: disappointment, abandonment, affliction, persecution and even (physical) death. Who in their right mind would want to voluntarily be a part of those things!?!?! The good news of Jesus is that He will always be with us to provide comfort and strength during these times. And unlike the world, He will never leave us or forsake us.

As we enjoy the blessings God has provided, let us do so understanding each of their places in our priorities of life. Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus as we enjoy the good and confront the bad.

Be bold and courageous! You are a child of the King!!
