"I know thy works", Jesus is speaking to a church in the book of Revelation but he is also speaking to us as members of His church (the Body of Christ).

The third chapter of Revelation, verses 15-22 is describing the church of Laodicea as being neither hot or cold. Jesus is admonishing the members of the church for becoming indifferent to God. Too many of them had become caught up in the pursuit of materialistic things, placing priority of earthly treasures over heavenly riches. They had become "blinded" by the glimmer and shine of their pursuits and started to live as if they did not need Jesus.

Like for so many of us, Jesus disciplines his church because He loves us. Through this correction, Jesus provides the wisdom of what true treasures are made of (gold refined by the fire) and a second chance to ask for forgiveness and refocus.

If you are seeking motivation today, look no further than verses 20-22; Jesus is at your door, knocking. When you answer it, what type of Christian will He find?

See you in church...

Pastor Aaron
