Be Still

Sounds pretty easy, doesn't it? When the writer of Psalms 46 tells us to be still, he is asking for a lot. For many of us, our minds and bodies have been programmed by society to go non-stop. Our days and nights are filled with hectic schedules, phone calls, emails, texts, social media posts and running non-stop from here to there.

I have a challenge for you (that I failed). Can you remember everything you did last week? How about just yesterday? We are jam-packing so much into our days that we don't even have time to remember, let alone enjoy, what we experienced?

When was the last time you stopped to the enjoy the beauty of God's creation that we take for granted everyday? Sitting on a covered porch listening to the rain. Watching a sunset. Taking your shoes off and feeling the cool grass under your feet. Even more so, how about turning the world off and clearing your mind to just listen?

Psalms 46:10 says, "Be still and know that I am God". We were created to fellowship with our Creator and fellow creation. I encourage you to find time each day to do both.

See you in church Sunday...
