The Bible is filled with dreams and visions; individuals who were able to see things that others could not. John was one, who while exiled on the island of Patmos, saw many visions of what was to come. These dreams and visions were possible because he chose to look up and see beyond their limited views.
Asa coach, I would continually tell my players to “look up” and see the entire floor or field. As a driving instructor in law enforcement, I would remind the trainee to “look up” and see the entire road. To often, we limit our views by looking down or (locked) straight ahead. We were given what is referred to peripheral vision or side vision when looking straight ahead. It is an amazing ability that most never realize or utilize.
In this world, it is easy to lock in to a certain view and not see the whole picture. Many times, this happens when we are going through trials and challenges. We focus on the problem which keeps us from seeing all the good things (blessings) around us. But when we lift up our eyes to heaven we are comforted and reassured by His presence.
Are you experiencing tunnel vision right now? Having trouble seeing the bigger picture? If so, I have good news for you my friend: Jesus provides a much better vision than the world does. All we have to do is look up and ask Him to show us…
