Happy Friday Everyone! With the conclusion of another July 4th holiday and the blessing to live in a country founded on freedom, I want to share my sermon notes from last Sunday.

The title of my message is: I Am Free" and our text is from Galatians 5:1. The apostle Paul writes, "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage."

During this time of the year, I want us to look at the freedom we have; not only as citizens of the United States (inalienable rights: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness) but even more importantly through Christ.

A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit gives us freedom from constant worry; prioritize your thoughts! (*Matthew 6:33-34)

A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit gives us freedom from the constant pursuit of possessions (*John 8:32-34) (*1Timothy 6:10)

A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit gives us freedom from eternal damnation and separation from God (*John 3:16)

The world will tell you that being a Christian takes all of your freedom away. This is a lie the devil wants us to believe. As the body of Christ, we are free from sin! It no longer controls or owns us. Even in our (daily) struggles with sin, we have been given the ability to not be a slave to it.

May God bless you and your loved ones today and the rest of this week. Please continue to keep one another in prayer ...

Pastor Aaron
