God's Fingerprint

The Bible says that each one of us is a unique creation. We are fearfully and wonderfully made in His image (Psalm 139:13-14). The Creator crafted each of us and has an intimate knowledge and understanding of our individuality. One of the many individual characteristics we have been given is our fingerprints. No two are alike. In fact, it is one of the well tested and trusted ways to identify us when no other information can be obtained.
If you have every watched a crime show on television, you have seen the importance of identifying someone by fingerprints they left behind. Or, perhaps you have heard the saying that something has a person's fingerprints all over it; meaning that you can tell something was done by a particular person. An action or event that reveals who someone is.
As Christians, we have both physical AND spritual fingerprints. Our testimony and witness can be just as identifying as our physical fingerprint. It is specifically ours and no one elses. Think about that for a minute. In the history and future of the human race, no one else will have the same exact testimony or witness as you. It is individually yours. When you come to understand and accept this amazing concept, it should become extremely difficult to continue keeping your testimony and witness to yourself. Both were given to us so that we may share with others. And when we do not share our testimony, we are robbing others of blessings by hearing it. Remember this, when you die your one of a kind finger print (testimony) dies with you.
There is no doubt in my mind that the Lord is going to ask you and me why we did or did not share our unique fingerprint with others during our time on earth. How do I know? Because He tells us so in His Word: You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:14-16).
So if we are made in His image, are we correct in saying that God also has fingerprints? The answer is yes (we were made in His image). Understanding the unlimited physical boundaries of God the Father with the human form of Jesus the Son, we can be assured that God has both physical and spiritual fingerprints; just like us, God leaves His fingerprints all over His work(s). And, just like like those crime shows where the police officer dusts for fingerprints, I can see God's fingerprints all over my life. Thanks be to God, I am covered in them. When talking about my testimony and sharing my witness, I can plainly see them. Moments in my life that are His and His alone. Miracles that can only be identified as coming from The King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Memories in life that are gifted by a caring and gracious Father. All of God's fingerprints on my life have revealed who He truly is: a loving Savior.
God does have a unique set of fingerprints and they can be seen throughout my life. How about you?
