Incomplete Christian

Even though we may do many of the things on our Christian "checklist", if we do not place Christ first in our everyday life and give fully and freely to Him, we will remain incomplete. A lot of good, moral people believe in God and go to church for an hour on Sunday. What do they do with the rest of their time?

Paul speaks about being fully alive in Christ in the Book of Ephesians, But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)...For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast (2:4-5,8-9). In this passage, Paul speaks about our spiritual quickening as believers. In Jesus, we have been made alive or "quickened". For biblical context, God breathed (mortal) life into the first Adam in the Book of Genesis. Through the last Adam (Jesus), He has given us eternal life.

Look at what Jesus says in the Book of Matthew (16:24-26), Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? Jesus is telling us there are two types of people in this world. One that says, to God, "Thy will be done". And one that God says, "thy will be done".

I encourage you to reflect for a moment on the priorities in your life may cause you not to pick up your cross and follow Jesus. Are you completely His?
