It Really Is That Simple

We have a habit of overthinking things sometimes. In a world full of choices and opportunities it can be easy to complicate decisions in life. I know from personal experience, unneeded stress has been caused by over complicating things.

I love God’s word He gives us through the Bible for many reasons. One of which is how beautifully simple His wisdom is IF we do not try to overthink it. Have you ever had someone try to tell you a story that seemingly takes forever? At some point, you think to yourself ”is there an end to this conversation?” Or, “ I wish they would just get to the point.”

In the book of Ecclesiastes (12:13) the writer comes right to the point, Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. Read those words again slowly; IT REALLY IS THAT SIMPLE. We are the ones who make it complicated. Yes, life can be difficult frustrating and uncertain at times. In these moments are the best time to remember this powerful verse. As Christians, it is our responsibility to fear God and keep His commandments. Period. This is what is expected of us. Nothing more, nothing less.

You may be reading this thinking “but Aaron you don’t understand how complicated my life is.” I have wonderful news for you: I don’t have to know. God’s wisdom still applies no matter the circumstances.

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. I have found much comfort in these words and so can you…
