Just Like His Mom

Today is a day to remember, celebrate and honor all of the moms God has given us. Like many, I have been blessed with a loving biological mom AND others mothers who have spoken into my life. Certainly all of them deserve recognition beyond just one day out of the year.

Women were created with God-given uniqueness. Women were created to do everything a man cannot do. The lioness’s does not try to be a lion. Rather, she embraces her role. She is powerful, strong and nurturing. Do not mistake her meekness for weakness. The world is a better place because of kind, compassionate, humble, faithful, persevering, confident, fierce, bold, pure and tender-hearted women.

God purposely chose a woman to bring Jesus into this world; He had specific reasons for doing so. Fathers have an important role but mothers have a special bond with their children. A woman senses things a man cannot and loves things men will not.

Jesus possessed some of His mother’s characteristics: a gentle strength, self sacrifice, faithfulness and courage just to name a few. His love for Mary was evident even when he voiced concern for who would care for her as He hung on the cross.

Like Jesus, I am proud when people say, “Aaron sometimes you are just like your Mom”. Happy Mothers Day Mom, I love you…
