No Appointment Necessary

From time to time, all of us have made appointments for something in our lives. For many, going to doctor appointments can feel like a full time job! It has always puzzled me how we call to schedule an appointment, are put on hold and then told this is the only time/day we can be seen. Then, when we get to the appointment we have to wait another 30 minutes to be seen. Even worse, we sometimes have our appointments cancelled or are charged for being late. And for all this, we still have to pay for the services if and when they are provided!

I am thankful that the One who cares for and listens to me the most does not require me to “call ahead”. I am grateful that the One who can fix all of my physical and mental cares does not cancel appointments or tell me I will need to wait until next month to be seen.

Joshua 1:9 tells us, Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

How many times have you prayed today? (I hope a lot :-) Each time, did you give thanks for not having to schedule an appointment?

I hope each of you have a blessed week. I am looking forward to being back in church with you…
