Situational Awareness

In the world of law enforcement and military training, officers and soldiers are trained to be aware of their surroundings. They are shown how to identify potential enemies as well as strong holds (safe places). This is based on the biblical principle found in 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

As Christians, we need to practice this "situational awareness" on a daily basis. Who are we surrounding ourselves with and who are we surrounded by. There are people and things in our lives that the devil will use against us. Even if they are considered good, the enemy can manipulate them into finding a weakness in our armor. Do not fool yourself, the devil has one job: to try and separate us from God. We must be vigilant and never let our guard down when protecting those that the Lord has given us charge over.

I encourage you to strengthen your position with prayer, reading God's Word everyday and spending more time with like-minded believers. You are not alone in this fight!

See you in church on Sunday...
