The Eye of a Needle

I am rich and have been my entire life. Now, before you start to assume I mean rich in the financial sense I can assure you that has never been (or ever will be) the case. Growing up, I enjoyed the wealth of two loving parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins and close family friends that were a part of my life. As a husband, father, uncle and now grandfather I have seen my wealth grow exponentially. While some works their entire lives to gather money, the truly blessed live their entire lives to gather true wealth.
In his letter to the church of Ephesus, the Apostle Paul speaks about many topics including God’s incomparable riches found in His grace. In the eighth and ninth verse of chapter two, he spotlights the saving power of faith and NOT by works or of ourselves. Unfortunately, there are a lot of misguided churches and Christians that believe they are going to heaven because they are good, moral people. This is in direct contradiction to the Bible! In the Book of Matthew, Jesus tells us it would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God.
When someone relies on their “own” riches (wealth, good works, talent), they begin to believe the lies of the enemy:
They really do not need God since they already have everything they need.
They have done it by themselves; “my fame and my fortune”.
They become more interested in what the world thinks than what God thinks.
Many people pray for financial wealth, some play the lottery every week while others work themselves into an early grave. With Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I have already received more riches than I could ever accumulate and/or deserve. In fact, I have so much wealth, I would love to share it with you…
