The Power of Light

The light that God gives each of us is for a purpose. Everyone that has accepted Christ as a Savior has a light. To deny that would be to deny Jesus Himself. The light of God is like a fire: it can provide warmth, safety and direction. However, it must be tended to so it will not go out. As believers, we tend our “light” through prayer, Bible reading and fellowship with other believers.

As Christians, we must keep our light warm and inviting. But how? It is in the way we treat others (including non believers), the type of role model we are for our children and other young people in our lives and the continuous seeking of Jesus’ will for our lives.

The Bible tells us that darkness (evil) cannot live in the light. Shadows occur when we are only partially standing in the light; in the corners or on the edge of it. It is only when we chose NOT to stand fully in the light of God that the darkness of this world can penetrate our lives.

In our day to day lives, we never know who is watching and following the light from our fire. Someone is affected, positively or negatively, by our testimony everyday.

See you in church tomorrow…
