What Happened?

Lately it seems like people don't have time. Cars speed by me on the roadway, people brush by me at work and communication is usually through a quick text without even a hello or good morning attached to it. Life has shifted into high gear and we struggle to slow down the pace. As a result, many of us suffer from anxiety, stress and worry. Our bodies and minds were not created by God to be used this way.

Along with this unhealthy pace, we have also forgotten to simply be kind to people. How much time does it take to say "thank you"? How far behind will you get if you take the time to send out an uplifting message or make a much needed phone call to a family member or friend. Proverbs 12:25 says, Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: But a good word maketh it glad. In other words, anxiety weighs us down mentally and physically but a good word makes a heart glad. We have let the enemy convince us that there isn't time to be courteous and that we just have too much to do. As Christians, one of the greatest blessings God gave us is prayer. With prayer, a smile or kind word are two more of the most powerful blessings we possess. I encourage you to receive every day with a grateful heart and a prayer of thanksgiving on your lips. With both, Jesus will provide you the opportunity and the ability to share a kind word and maybe even a warm smile. I hope you have a great rest of your week; see you in church...
