How many of you have a true friend(s) in your life? Someone that you can count on in good times and in bad times. A person that shows both loyalty and commitment that time and distance cannot separate. If so, you are truly blessed.

The writer of the Book of Ecclesiastes talks about the strength of friendship. In the fourth chapter, we learn that two are better than one. A true friend can provide encouragement and reassurance. If one falls, the other can be there to pick them up. We were created for fellowship with not only God but one another. One only has to look at creation in the Book of Genesis to see that man and woman were created and God saw that it was good. This also supports why in person worship and the gathering together for church is a vital part of who we are in Him.

Proverbs 17:17 tells us that A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. In other words: a true friend gives as well as receives! In God's Word, we also find warnings not to become "friends" with the world; especially with those things or people that only want to take from us.

My closest friend is Jesus, I hope He is yours too. If not, He can be...
