What Is Your Favorite Verse?

Most all of us have one or two favorite verses in the bible. Words that speak meaning into our lives that we come back to time and time again. For me, Isaiah 54:17 and Romans 8:31-39 are the two passages that sustain me over and over again.

The prophet Isaiah shares God's promises of our heritage as servants of the Lord. In chapter 54, we read that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. And every tongue that rises aginast you in judgment You shall condemn... (verse 17). What an amazing confidence we can have in the Lord!

In the eighth chapter of Romans, the apostle Paul shares a similar promise: What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (verse 31). Continuing in verse 37, No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

The world, and all that is going on in it, can get you down. The enemy whispers that we must conform to the wishes of those around us and cannot achieve true happiness unless we do. Often times we work ourselves into an unhealthy situation trying to please everyone except Christ.

Without a doubt, the Word of God has brought me through challenging times in my life; I hope and pray the same for you...
