A Firm Foundation

I love singing old hymns in church. Their words and meaning speak to my heart and the love I have for Jesus. A chorus to one of those hymns says: On Christ the solid rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand. In other words, a life built around Jesus gives us a firm foundation to deal with all that is thrown our way by a world tossed to and from by the waves of society.

Psalm 40: 1-2 tells us to wait patiently upon the Lord and that He will hear our cries. Verse 2

says, He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. Do you feel like you are currently in a horrible pit? Or stuck in a miry clay? If so, work to (re)set your foundation on Christ. He can bring you out of your current situation and plant your feet on firm foundation. The world feels like it is sinking, maybe it is time you jumped ship and swam to the Rock.

I hope you have a blessed week; remember to continue praying for one another...
