Adjusting Your Radio Dial

Today’s technology for listening to music is amazing. Downloading and streaming all of our favorite songs at the touch of a button on our phone. We have come a long way from the old turn dial radios. You had to adjust the tuner knob just right to hear a particular song without interference or static?

As Christians, we must “monitor” our internal AND eternal frequency to stay on the correct channel. In the Book of Galatians, the Apostle Paul talks about walking in the Spirit. In chapter five, he speaks of staying in tune with Christ by pursuing the fruits of the Spirit and trying to drown out the interference from other stations or, as Paul says lusts of the flesh.

These other stations distort what Jesus is trying to tell us and drown out what and who we should be listening to. After so long, the right radio station becomes harder to find! So when do we know it is time to make an adjustment to our radio dial? When you start to recognize that your mind is focused more on the world than on the word. When you don’t feel or sound right. And when the world starts to become comfortable!
