Are You An Only If You Do Christian?

Oh how we like when people do what we want them to! It somehow makes us happier. Whether it is getting what we want, thinking we are right or smarter, or even the power trip, many of us surround ourselves with "yes men" or those that agree or give in more often than not. Hopefully, the relationships in your life are not built around this. Somewhere and somehow, our country has lost the fact that debate, discussion and sometimes being told no can be good things and healthy in any relationship.

The Bible is packed full of wonderful examples of "if you do or if you don't" people. Perhaps the greatest of these examples is found in the Book of Job. Since our youth in Sunday School, we have heard about God's servant Job. A man who had everything the world could offer before it was taken away. How everything and everyone in Job's life turned on him. How, in the beginning, Job stood strong in his faith before reaching his breaking point when he sinned by questioning God in a defensive and accusatory way.

The devil made a bet with God. Believers will only have faith when things are going well, their bellies and bank accounts are full, and everyone is agreeing with them. Take those things away and see what happens. In fact, the devil was so determined he asked God to allow him to attack Job twice.

Need more proof that you can be an "even if God doesn't Christian"? Let me tell you about a man named Daniel. If you would like to hear more, I encourage you to join us for church tomorrow; feel free to bring a friend...
