I want to first wish all fathers a Happy Father's Day. In my life, I have been blessed to have great examples of what it means to be a true man of faith through my father and grandfather. Far from perfect, both showed me (by example) what it meant to be a father to my sons. In watching Ethan become a father, I can honestly say he is a better version of me which is what EVERY father should want for their son.

The Bible is filled with fatherly advice. Our Heavenly Father lays the blueprint out for earthly fathers to follow. If you dads are wondering where to begin, I suggest the Book of Proverbs.

The cornerstone/foundation of fatherly advice is found in Ecclesiastes 12. In it, we find the writer talking to his son about the challenges of life. From honoring your father, both earthly and heavenly to speaking the truth in a world full of lies this passage has been a tremendous light to countless dads who want more than anything to pass this knowledge onto their sons. In verse 13, the writer sums it up beautifully, Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man's (entire duty) all.

I hope in your lifetime, you have received or given sound fatherly advice. If not, it is never too late to start. Our world is full of young men starved for it...
