We have been blessed this week with beautfiul weather! Cool mornings and sun-filled afternoons with a touch of fall in the air. For many, this is their favorite weather all year. My family has always enjoyed camping. Whether it is taking the horses out for an overnight ride or sitting around the campfire after a day of hiking, being outdoors just seems to make me feel better :-) This time of the year is great for camping.

One of the many items you need to camp is firewood. I actually enjoy the challenge of finding suitable wood, gathering it and preparing it for the fire. You can't just throw it in and hope for the best.

Being a Christian is a lot like gathering firewood. How so? I am glad you asked ;-) In our lives, God will always provide the "wood", but it is our job to gather it. We must then prepare the wood before placing it in the fire. And finally, we need to be vigilent when tending our fire so it won't go out!

If your live seems too busy to take time to enjoy nature, sit around a campfire and just enjoy the beauty and peace our Creator and His creation offer, I encourage you to do so. It may be just what you are needing...

See you in church tomorrow.
