Growing in Grace

What does it mean to grow as a Christian? God’s Word tells us we cannot earn His grace. We also cannot gain more grace because God’s grace is infinite. It is also important for us to realize that His grace does not grow in us, but we can and should grow in it!

To grow in God’s grace, we must be willing to do three things:

  1. Bend Towards the Light - Jesus said, “I am the Light of the world.” He is the Light of truth, Light of God’s Word and the Light of (everlasting) life.

  2. Sanctify Ourselves - We must be set apart from this world, sprinkled with the blood of Jesus. For God’s Word and the receiving of The Holy Spirit will have a dramatic effect on us; it is an outward sign of an inward change.

  3. Live on Fruits (of The Spirit) - In The Book of Galatians (5:22-23) the Apostle Paul lists for us the fruits of The Spirit: love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance. The Holy Spirit gives us the ability AND desire to produce these fruits on a daily basis.

Are you growing in your faith and relationship with Jesus? Do you feel like you have hit a road block or are stuck in a rut? If so, I encourage you to (re)visit these biblical truths. You will be amazed how they impact your growth and view.

See you in church tomorrow…
