Head for the Stronghold

It is getting tougher and tougher out there. Everyday seems to bring new challenges, trials and frustrations; evil seems to be winning. If you are connected to this world in anyway (and all of us are), you can feel the darkness closing in. Regardless of the burden you are currently caring, it is human nature to want to give up and give in sometimes.

Throughout history, individuals under attack from the enemy would head to their stronghold a place that has been fortified so as to protect it against attack. As Christians, we are must definitely under attack and need to head to our Stronghold. In the 27th chapter of the Book of Psalms the writer (David) tells us, The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall. At this point in his life, David had seen the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in his life. He had experienced triumph and tragedy. Like us, David struggled with life and found himself turning to the Lord (again) in this chapter.

The Lord is our Stronghold. A Refuge in the time(s) of trouble. He is the Rock we can anchor our lives with regardless of what we are currently experiencing (good or bad). The world offers many "solutions" to our problems. Fortunately, some do provide temporary relief. Today, I encourage you to head to your stronghold and find refuge in our Savior.

Continue to pray for one another, we are all bearing personal burdens. I also ask you to especially pray for Vicki and Erica, this has been a very difficult week for both of them...
