Is There Good In Suffering?

You do not have to look far to see suffering in this world. It seems to be all around us with no relief in sight. As we read the bible, we are told that suffering has been a part of human existence since the creation.

Along with this suffering has been the age old question: how can a loving God allow these things to happen? Hundreds, if not thousands, of books have been written on the subject with people spending much of their life searching for an answer.

I believe the answers (to all ) we seek can be found in God's Word. Yes, there can be good that comes from suffering. Yes, God allows some suffering to take place for our own benefit. No, God is not happy when his children suffer. There is also something called "freewill" that allows each of us to choose our actions. With this freewill comes consequences including suffering in some cases.

There is so much more to discuss and learn about this tough question. I hope to see you in church tomorrow so that we can learn together. ..
