Praise The Lord!

What is your motivation in the morning? Do you naturally wake up to face the day? Or, do you dread the sound of the alarm clock and the thought of dragging yourself out of bed? As Christians, God provides us encouragement through many things, including His Word. Earlier this month, I challenged our congregation to start each morning thanking God for (at least) 22 blessings. With that, I want to share a beautiful passage from the Book of Psalms (112:1-9) that has lifted my spirit and strengthened my determination to embrace each day as a gift. I hope and pray it does the same for you.

Praise the Lord! For all who fear God and trust in Him are blessed beyond expression. Happy is the man who delights in doing His commands. His children shall be honored everywhere, for good mens' sons have a special heritage. He himself shall be wealthy, and his good deeds will never be forgotten. When darkness overtakes him, light will come bursting in. He is kind and merciful-and all goes well for the generous man who conducts his business fairly. Such a man will not be overthrown by evil circumstances.

God's constant care of him will make a deep impression on all who see it. He does not fear bad news, nor live in dread of what may happen. For he is settled in his mind that Jehovah will take care of him. That is why he is not afraid, but can calmly face his foes. He gives generously to those in need. His deeds will never be forgotten. He shall have influence in honor.

How different our days can look when we have His Words on our minds, hearts and lips...
