The Birds Are Singing

This week we have been blessed with beautiful warm weather. This past winter has felt especially long, dark and cold. Perhaps it is the season of life I am in or the winters I spent working the night shift; whatever the reason, cold weather and winters seem to be harder and harder both mentally and physically.

But just like God’s unending faithfulness in the beauty of His creation, Spring is almost here. The warmer temperatures and longer days signal the rebirth of green grass, full trees, a blue sky and sunshine. The Bible speaks of the wonder and beauty of God’s creation. With the pace of life, we often fail to enjoy and take for granted the world in which He gave us. We fly through the day with our eyes fixed on a computer screen and heads buried in our overbooked schedules, all the while missing the gift of another day on earth.

Psalm 104 is one of the passages that speaks of creation and the beauty of our world. In its 35 chapters, the writer describes how God created and continues to sustain the planets, stars and heaven. Look in verse 24, O Lord, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

Not to long ago, we were told to stay inside for our own health. Doing so not only robbed us of vital vitamin D and the fresh air we all desperately need, but also of enjoying the beautiful creation given to us by the Master Creator.

The birds are singing, I invite you to come outside and enjoy them…
