Tick Tock

How many of us remember sitting in school, watching the clock and thinking the bell would never ring. It felt like time was almost standing still. I can still hear the tick tock of the clock on the classroom wall. Many of our children and grandchildren equate tick tock with a popular social media app that has the power to bring both happiness and destruction (depending on who you talk to).
Psalm 90 retells a prayer spoken by Moses to God asking for wisdom with the challenges found in this life. In verse twelve, he asks The Lord to remind His people about the frailty of life. So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Each of us have been uniquely created with an internal clock. Some of us are able to tell time without even having to look at a clock or set an alarm. For others, clocks, alarms and schedules are essential in order to properly function in this world. Psalms 39:4 goes even farther when David asks God to make me to know my end, and the measure of my days; what it is; that I may know how frail it is.
Unless the Lord returns beforehand, each of us will die at an appointed time. You and I may be called home today. Or maybe next week. If tonight is the last night I lay my head down on this earth, can I say with certainty, “Lord, thank you for the gift of today and allowing me another opportunity to glorify you in ALL that I do.”
In an ever-changing priority filled world, I encourage you to focus each day God gifts you to seek His will for your life. The clock is ticking…
