We are living at a fast-paced, break neck speed. Time literally seems to flying by. For many of us, 28 hours of activity is crammed into a 24 hour period EVERYDAY. Intentionally resting is a thing of the past. The sabbath has taken on many meanings, several of which it was not intended for.

Psalms 62:1-2 tells In God alone my soul finds rest, for my deliverance comes from God, who alone is my rock, my salvation, my fortress: I will never be shaken. More days than not, I am physically and mentally exhausted. Trying to keep up at work, family life, church and everything in between can bring more stress than satisfaction. Good things become bad when they negatively impact your overall health.

I encourage you to stop trying to keep pace with the world. Dedicate a few moments each day to find true rest in God. Turn off your phone, put away your to-do list, clear your mind and left Him deliver your soul.

My Rock, my Salvation and my Fortress...

This Sunday, Otsego First Baptist is having a fellowship dinner after services. I encourage all of you to join us and feel free to invite as many people as possible. I promise there will be enough food :-)
