Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

There is a wonderful old hymn that spoke to me this week. All of us, from time to time, get caught up in the pleasures and pains of this world. Without knowing or trying, our attentions are drawn to all the seemingly "important" things of today. Before we know it, we are often confused, exhausted and depressed be being frustated and overwhelmed at life itself.

Psalms 119:37 tells us not to be concerned with the "worthless things" of this world.

We get so caught up in the cares of this world. Are our responsibilities important? Absolutely. It is when they move our eyes away from Jesus that they begin to negatively impact our lives.

Thank you Lord for encouraging me to turn back to You. Thank you Lord for forgiving me for losing sight of what should be the most important thing in my life: Your Son.

Here are the words to Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus; I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Pastor Aaron

O soul are you weary and troubled

No light in the darkness you see

There's light for a look at the Savior

And life more abundant and free

Turn your eyes upon Jesus

Look full in his wonderful face

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim

In the light of his glory and grace

His word shall not fail you he promised

Believe him and all will be well

Then go to a world that is dying

His perfect salvation to tell

Turn your eyes upon Jesus

Look full in his wonderful face

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim

In the light of his glory and grace

O soul are you weary and troubled

No light in the darkness you see

There's light for a look at the Savior

And life more abundant and free

Turn your eyes upon Jesus

Look full in his wonderful face

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim

In the light of his glory and grace

What If

Paul's letter to the church in Philippi is filled with instruction, encouragement and hope. As he sits in prison for his faith (in action), Paul writes that there can be joy in suffering for Christ.
