What Is On Your Schedule?

I have always believed you can usually tell a lot about someone's priorities by opening up their checkbook, calendar or Bible. All of which can paint an accurate portrait of what they feel is important. All are full of valuable information (some more than others) and can provide direction in our lives.
Proverbs 5: 3-6 tells us to Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. When we talk about acknowledging God, there can many different ways in which to do so. The first, and most basic way, is to say you believe there is a God. However, that does not necessarily mean you believe in God. The Bible speaks of this in the Book of Matthew (7:21-23) Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!
Another way we can acknowledge Him is through our words. We can talk to others about Jesus and also show them who Jesus is by the way in which we talk. The Bible is also very clear on the power of words and how they can lift up or tear down. In fact, the quickest way to kill your testimony is to talk to someone in a way that tells them you are of the world and not of the One who created it. I encourage you to reflect on your "speech" no matter the audience. Does it acknowledge Jesus as your Lord and Savior?
And finally, we can acknowledge God through our schedules. All of us are busy; it is the unhealthy pace of society. However, within our jammed packed days that become weeks, then months, then years are opportunities to acknowledge the One that acknowledged you and I by dying for our sins. Are your days too busy to set aside quality time with God and for God? Do you find it difficult to fit Jesus into your schedule? Are you using the Lord's Day to catch up from all the other days of the week you spend relentlessly pursuing the world.
What does your schedule look like today? I hope it is full of Jesus...
