Where Are You?

In the book of Genesis, Adam and Eve are living in paradise (Eden) with God. After committing the one sin they were warned about, both are trying to "hide" from Him. Similar to our lives God has blessed us with so many wonderful things, yet we lust after the one thing(s) we do not have. After Adam and Eve did so, they covered their shame and hoped God would not see them.

Knowing that our Creator is all knowing, all powerful and all present, it is interesting to read in the third chapter (verse 8-9) that God is asking Adam and Eve where they are at. Since He already knows what they have done and where they are hiding, perhaps He was asking them another question: where is your head?!?!

Where is your head today? What occupies your mind throughout the day? Work? Finances? Society? Your Family? When you are in church, are you only physically there? Is your mind wandering, wishing the pastor would hurry up so you can get back to the world? Or are you embarrassed and hiding from His presence? Are you where you want to be in your life or where God wants you to be? When we prioritize our own agenda and stray from God's will, we inflict unnecessary pain on ourselves and our loved ones.

If you find yourself hiding from God; I have great news for you, my friend. There is still time to: reconnect, refocus and reprioritize! Return to a simpler agenda; pray every day, read your bible and (physically) connect with a bible-based church that will love you so much they tell you want you need to hear instead of what you want to hear...
