Who Created Electricity?

Recently, the use, availability and advantages of electricity has become a national focal point. It has been referred to as a viable alternative to other forms of power. Some have all electric homes, cars and/or other rechargeable machines that are battery powered. Electricity is one of those things we all take for granted and certainly miss when it goes out!

When asked, most young people and maybe even some adults will tell you electricity comes from the “outlet in the wall”. Unless they paid attention in school (if schools even teach it anymore), a lot of us would struggle to answer how it is made. Electricity is generated from multiple sources: fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas and petroleum are the primary sources of electricity in the United States. There is also renewable energy such as: wind, solar and hydropower (water). All of these come from the earth created by God.

Psalm 24:1-2 tells us The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for He founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.

Sometimes I get the feeling we have convinced ourselves many things are man-made. If you think about it for just a moment, there is nothing truly man made because man himself was formed by the Creator. It is a wonderful revelation to be able to honestly thank Him for everything good in your life, including electricity…
