As we continue to celebrate Holy Week in preparation for Resurrection Sunday, I am filled with emotions of sadness, gratitude, hope and anticipation. Most biblical scholars believe that Wednesday of Holy Week was the day Judas decided to betray Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. He prepared to side with the those wanting rid of Christ and acted accordingly by taking the money and being part in His arrest.

During this time, Jesus also prepared for His ultimate sacrifice for each of us through a horrific torture of being beaten, physically abused and nailed to a cross where he ultimately died for our sins. Chapter 19 in the Book of John tells the story leading up to and including Jesus' crucifixion. In encourage you to take time to read the entire chapter at some point this week. When you do, I challenge you to stop after each verse to reflect and prayer about what you just read. Let the idea of how Judas prepared to betray Jesus, how Pilate prepared to judge Jesus and how God prepared to sacrifice and receive His Son flood your mind.

This week celebrates who and what we are in Christ! We serve a RISEN Savior, are you prepared to meet Him one day?

I look forward to seeing you at our Good Friday services and also on Easter. Are you truly prepared to experience both?
