How is your eyesight since you became a Christian? Do you still look at or see things the same? If so, I encourage you to change your view. Psalm 119:18 says, Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law. This prayer is asking to see things through the eyes of Jesus. But before doing so, we need to clean out the "beam" in our eye (Luke 6:42). After doing so, we can then focus on God and see clearly.

So how do we see things with the eyes of Jesus? I believe we must adjust our sight three ways:

  • We must look towards God - Are you asking that His will be done in every aspect of your life? Like a field goal kicker, are you focused on where you are headed or worried about the crowd and noise around you coming from the world.

  • We should look through challenges - Thanks be to our Heavenly Father, Jesus looked through the sins of the world including each of our sinful natures to see who we could be through Him! We too, can conquer the challenges of life when our focus remains on the One who can and will see us through.

  • We are able to look to heaven - Jesus saw where He was headed and focused on His destination with how He lived His life on earth. Do you?

Seeing this world with the eyes of Jesus can change everything. See you in church tomorrow...
