Why So Angry?

It seems a lot of people are stressed, on edge or in a bad mood most of the time. Common courtesy seems to be a thing of the past. Holding the door for someone, saying thank you or even just a friendly wave or smile doesn't take much effort and can make the difference in someone (including you) having a good or bad day.

Proverbs 29:11 talks about responding out of anger. Our emotions get the best of us and we lash out at someone because of it. Having been on both sides of this type of conversation, I can tell you it does NOT help the situation! As Christians, we should be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God (James 1: 19-20).

This does not mean that we should keep all of our emotions bottled up inside and never express or share our feelings. The bible does instruct us on how to handle our emotions in a healthier way that portrays the love of Jesus. All of us will be angry from time to time, the difference is how, as a believer, we express these feelings.

If you find yourself impatient and angry more often than not, take a moment to talk with God and ask him to grant you peace and wisdom.

I hope you have a great rest of your week. See you in church on Sunday...
